Selfie movie review

Story:

G V Prakash wants to become a businessman, but his father forces him to study engineering and also pays an hefty amount to get admission in a reputed college in Chennai.

Latest GVP comes to know that the high price of his admission was because of the middlemen involved in getting admission.

Hence, he becomes an agent himself. In the process he locks horns with gangster Gautham Menon, who is assigned the task of filling management quota seats in private colleges.

What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director Mathi Maaran’s effort to bring out the dark side of college admission should be appreciated.

Mathi Maaran’s visual is ably supported by some sensational performances.

If it is G V Prakash who steals the show in the first half, Gautham Menon kills it with style and mannerism in the second half.

The actors have brought their A game to the fore which makes it a convincing part.

Rest of the crew have also done their part well.

While there is not much setback in the story or performance, it is the presentation side which lags a bit.

For instance some of the dialogues are delivered very fastly, at times music overlaps the dialogue.

If few adjustments had been made in the technical departments, Selfie would have been even better to watch.
