Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 team reveal grand release plans
Sun Pictures has officially announced that Jailer 2, Superstar starring Rajinikanth, will be released in cinemas on October 15.
The sequel will open during the festive season, taking advantage of an extended holiday period expected to boost box-office collections. The film is also scheduled for a wide overseas release, reflecting Rajinikanth’s strong international fan base.
The announcement ends months of speculation over the release schedule and confirms that the action sequel will headline one of the biggest theatrical windows of the year.
Directed by Nelson, the sequel brings back several familiar faces from the first instalment while introducing new additions to the cast. The production has been mounted on a larger scale, with the team promising bigger action sequences, an expanded storyline and higher technical standards.
Following the commercial success of Jailer, expectations are high for the sequel, which is expected to be one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose soundtrack for the first film became a major chartbuster.
