Manmatha Leela movie review

Story:

Manmatha Leelai’ story is set in two different timelines in the life of Ashok Selvan.

In both the incidents Ashok tries to get physical with two different women.

In the first instance his plans are disrupted by the women’s father.

In the second instance, his wife returns back home.

What happens in both the scenarios forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The movie has a waffer thin line, yet Venkat Prabhu has tried his best to commercialise it as much as possible.

He has presented the film is a non-linear way.

The director maintains a light hearted tone throughout the running time, keeping the audience guessing if Ashok Selvan will be caught.

However, the expectations which were set in the first half falls flat in the second half due to the predictable climax.

Ashok Selvan has done will in both the timelines. He makes the audience feel the different emotions that his character goes through in the film.

The three female leads – Samyuktha, Riya suman and Smruthi Venkat have all done their part well.

Venkat Raajen’s editing is in good flow without any jerks. Premgi Amaren’s music gels well with the theme of the movie.
