Jason Sanjay’s ‘Sigma’ gets a new release date

Chief Minister Vijay’s son and director Jason Sanjay’s upcoming Tamil film Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan, has received a new theatrical release date.

The film, produced by Lyca Productions, will now reach cinemas worldwide on October 2. It was earlier scheduled for release on July 31.

The production house announced the revised date on social media, describing the film as a heist-themed entertainer. Sundeep Kishan had previously confirmed that he had completed dubbing for his portions. The film’s shooting was completed in December last year, following which the makers announced the completion of production.

Sigma marks Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut and has attracted considerable attention because he is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay.

Catherine Tresa is expected to feature alongside Sundeep Kishan in a song composed by Thaman. The track has reportedly been filmed on a large set.

The film’s story centres on a determined protagonist who chooses his own path and becomes involved in an adventure involving treasure, mystery and a heist. The makers have described the project as a blend of action, humour and emotional elements.

The technical team includes cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, editor Praveen K.L. and art director Benjamin M.

The film has been made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, with filming taking place across Chennai, Salem, the Thalakona forests and locations in Thailand.
