Nayanthara’s viral shaved-head pictures in Tirupati real or edited?
Photographs circulating online that appear to show actress Nayanthara with a shaved head have been digitally altered, according to comparisons with the original images from her earlier visit to Tirupati.
Nayanthara had visited the Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati with her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Images from that visit were later manipulated to make it appear as though she had shaved her head.
The altered photographs subsequently spread with claims linking the supposed appearance to the release of Toxic. However, the original pictures show that Nayanthara’s head had not been shaved.
Neither Nayanthara nor Vignesh Shivan has issued a formal statement regarding the manipulated photographs. The couple had visited Tirupati earlier this year ahead of the theatrical release of Vignesh Shivan’s film Love Insurance Kompany, which starred Pradeep Ranganathan.
The film reportedly earned around Rs 60 crore at the box office against a reported production budget of approximately Rs 100 crore. Despite the commercial response, Vignesh Shivan described the movie as a blockbuster and defended it against criticism on social media.
The filmmaker had previously argued that the film received an increasingly negative narrative after its opening weekend and maintained that the project deserved greater appreciation for attempting something different.
Nayanthara is now awaiting the August 26 release of Toxic, which stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria. She also has Hi, featuring Kavin and directed by Vishnu Edavan, among her upcoming projects.
