Yaanai Mugathaan movie review

Story:

Ramesh Thilak is an autodriver who borrows money from everyone that he knows.

Whenever, the lender asks back the money, he prays to Lord Ganesha to double the trouble in their lives so that they will not ask back the money from him.

After a certain point of time, the Ganesha idol disappears from his room. A few days later Yogi Babu makes an appearance in Ramesh Thilak’s life.

Who is Yogi Babu? How does his presence affect Ramesh’s life forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Written and directed by Rejish Midhila, the movie is simple yet entertaining. The movie would have been all the more enjoyable, if the screenplay was better.

Though there are a handful of talented actors such as Ramesh Thilak, Yogi Babu, Oorvasi and Karunakaran, the director could have given better characterisations.

Ramesh Thilak who has been impressive in character roles so far makes a decent debut as the lead. As usual, he has delivered an impressive performance.

Yogi Babu appears in the opening sequence and after the interval. Though there in not much humour associated to his character, it conveys the philosophy of life.

Karunakaran as Ramesh Thilak’s room mate has done his part well and Oorvasi as the auto owner makes her presence felt.

Music by Bharath Sankar is impressive. Karthik S Nair’s camerawork is good.
