Vezham movie review

Story:

Ashok Selvan and Ishwarya Menon are in love with each other.

One day when they return back from the woods they are attacked by a serial killer.

While Ashok manages to escape, Ishwarya is not lucky.

Following this Ashok suffers from the trauma of the incident.

However, he is also determined to get his revenge on the serial killer.

The only clue he has is the killer’s voice.

Was Ashok able to find the killer or not forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:
Director Sandeep Shyam has tried his best to avoid the cliches that are usually associated with revenge movies.

He tries to introduce on too many twists through the course of the movie. While some of the work well, most of them fall flat.

Ashok Selvan puts up a decent performance with two different shades in the movie.

Ishwarya gets a decent role and has also performed effectively.

Janani as the second heroine does not have much to do other than acting as instrument to get to the flashback.

One of the major positives of the movie is that it has a short run time.

The movie is technically sound as well. Sakthi Aravind has captured the greenery of Nilgiris beautifully.

Jaanu Chanthar’s music could have been a little better.
