Top Gun: Maverick movie review

Story:

Tom Cruise has been in the service as a Navy test pilot for 30 long years. After one mistake he is transferred to a training centre named Top Gun as a punishment.

He is entrusted with a task during his stay at the Top Gun which he has to accomplish with his trainees. Among the trainees is the son of his close friend.

Was Tom able to accomplish the task with the help of his trainees, how did his relation with his friend’s son impact the mission forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie, the movie is stylish and has all the emotions in the right mix.

Most of the movie is about the relentless men and a woman, their flying machines. There is also ample emotional stuff to keep the audience engaged.

Playing a character with an emotional baggage after a very long time, Tom Pulls off the role with ease. Tom is impressive with his stunts in the aircraft and his bike.

There is enough stamp of Tom’s to keep his fans satisfied.

Rest of the cast including Miles Teller, Jennifer Connely, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro and Val Kilmer have all done their part well.

Claudio Miranda’s cinematography is thrilling, especially the scenes that take place in open sky.

BGM for the movie is top notch and keeps the proceedings in a pulsating manner.

Overall Top Gun: Maverick is a treat for Tom Cruise fans.
