Maanadu movie review

Story:

STR is caught in a time loop and comes to know that the Chief Minister of the State is going to be murdered in a political meeting.

What does he do after that forms the crux of the story.

Though the storyline is very simple, the way it has been handled is what makes the movie standout.

Analysis:

Venkat Prabhu has took up the fictional concept of time loop and has delivered it with a interesting screenplay. Maanadu is billed as a political time loop and the concept has been handled well. The screenplay is racy and pacy.

Venkat Prabhu has delivered a complicated subject in a easy way to understand. The actors have all done a tremendous job as they have to act again in the time loop sequence. STR has carried the role of Abdul Khalique naturally. He shines in the action, emotion and comedy sequences.

S J Suryah gets a meaty role and keeps the audience glued to the screen. His performance is top notch.

Suryah’s dialogue delivery is enjoyable. Kalyani Priyadarshan has done her part well. Premgi, S A Chandrasekhar and rest of the cast have all delivered what was expected.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has maintained the tempo of the flick throughout the movie. This is one of his best BGM’s in recent times. He ensures that the audience are engaged in the flick. Richard M Nathan’s cinematography is top notch. Praveen K L’s editing is crisp and has done a tremendous job with a difficult subject.
