Susi Ganeshan returns to direction with Orenda; interesting details revealed
Filmmaker Susi Ganeshan is set to return to Tamil cinema with a new film titled Orenda, marking his first directorial project in nine years since Thiruttu Payale 2.
Before revealing the title, the makers released a promotional video in which people from different parts of Chennai were asked about the meaning of the word “Orenda,” generating curiosity among audiences. A subsequent teaser officially introduced the project and confirmed Susi Ganeshan as its director.
The latest promotional video includes behind-the-scenes footage while keeping details about the cast and storyline under wraps. Based on the visuals, the film appears to be an action entertainer. The production team also revealed that around 85 percent of filming has already been completed.
Susi Ganeshan began his career with Five Star in 2002, which introduced actors Prasanna and Kanika. He later directed films including Virumbukiren, Thiruttu Payale, Kanthaswamy, and Thiruttu Payale 2. Several of his early works received recognition at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
His most recent release, Thiruttu Payale 2 (2017), was later adapted into Kannada as 100 and Hindi as Ghuspaithiya.
