Sai Abhyankkar dreams of Christopher Nolan collaboration, opens up about Vijay

Music composer Sai Abhyankkar spoke about his ambitions, recent career growth and upcoming projects at the India Today Tamil Nadu Roundtable in Chennai on August 17.

The young musician discussed the success of Katchi Sera, the pressure of achieving recognition at an early age and his upcoming song Radhimaa. He also spoke about his desire to collaborate with filmmaker Christopher Nolan and his work on Raaka with director Atlee and actor Allu Arjun.

Sai said that when his first song was released in 2024, he could not have anticipated being involved in a project with Atlee and Allu Arjun. He described the opportunity to work on Raaka as a particularly significant milestone and said he wanted to maintain consistency and continue improving.

He also expressed his wish to eventually work with Christopher Nolan. Sai mentioned that fans had created an AI-generated video portraying Nolan discussing his music, and said he hoped that a genuine collaboration could happen someday.

The composer also spoke emotionally about never getting the opportunity to work with Thalapathy Vijay. He described working with the actor as a long-held ambition and said he would have given his maximum effort if the opportunity had materialised.

Reflecting on Vijay’s popularity, Sai said the actor had moved beyond being a favourite among cinema audiences and had developed a much broader public appeal.
