PM Modi meets several global leaders including UK PM, French President on sidelines of G7 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to President Zelenskyy for his warm congratulations on Modi’s re-election for a third term.

The leaders engaged in a productive discussion focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exchanged views on the current situation in Ukraine and the upcoming Peace Summit to be hosted by Switzerland.

In a message on X, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Had a very productive meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. India is eager to further cement bilateral relations with Ukraine. Regarding the ongoing hostilities, reiterated that India believes in a human-centric approach and believes that the way to peace is through dialogue and diplomacy @ZelenskyyUA.”

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s commitment to promoting a peaceful resolution to the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. He assured President Zelenskyy that India would continue to support efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful solution.

Both leaders agreed to maintain regular contact to further these objectives.
