Om Vellimalai movie review
Story:
There is a conflict between two villages Mel Vellimalai and Keel Vellimalai.
A patient is brought for treatment to a family from Bogar lineage.
Since the father is not available at the that time, the son treats the patient.
However, the patient dies and the villagers believe that it is because of the wrong treatment given by the child.
The villagers ban the entire family from practising medicine again.
After several years, the son starts practising medicine. However, the villagers do not get medicines from him.
Meanwhile, a virus starts spreading in the village and there is no cure for the disease.
The disease is believed to be spread from a person who came from the city.
This person seeks Subramani’s help and also gets healed.
The villagers also seek Subramani’s help to cure them.
Following this Subramani goes to Mel Vellimalai to get the herbs required for the treatment of the villagers.
What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Director Om Vijay has emphasised on the importance of the traditional medicinal practices and tells that proper administration of herbal medicines will cure any kind of disease.
Super Good Subramani is apt for his character that undergoes an emotional journey because of the way he is treated by the villagers.
He looks convincing as Bogar as well. Anju Krishnan is good and does her part well as the supportive daughter.
Veera Subash has adapted well to his role and has delivered what was expected from him.
Rest of the characters have all lived their characters giving the movie a natural feel.
Perumal’s camera is one of the major pillars of the movie.
Raghunandhan’s music is good and the background score gels well with the theme of the movie.
