Merry Christmas movie review

Story:

On Christmas Eve, two strangers, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi meet.

The chance encounter progresses into what seems like a date and a budding relationship.

However,  soon the world is about to turn upside down, and the dreamlike situation will turn into a nightmare that will toss the lives of the ones involved, and the ones not too.

What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Analysis:

Written by Raghavan with his longtime collaborators Pooja Ladha Surti and Arijit Biswas Merry Christmas is intricate. Because the suspense is strong, and the mystery intact.

The filmmaker is not making over-the-top efforts but is very religious about his setting.  The storyline is lucrative and very interestingly shaped.

Vijay Sethupathi is a delight, and he just fills up every frame with his smooth one-liners and that irresistible charm.

Katrina Kaif surrenders to Raghavan’s vision and follows his cues. This is easily one of her best performances.

Sanjay Kapoor, in his short but impactful cameo, is impressive and so are Vinay Pathak and Ashwini Kalsekar along with rest of the cast.

Radhika Apte gives the much needed impact for her role in the brief cameo.

The biggest supporting pillar of the film is its camera work and background score.
