Eventually they both fall in love with each other. Rakshana tells about their love to her grandfather Bharathiraja, who promises to get them married if she focuses on her college studies.
He also lays a condition that she should not talk to Shyam till she completes college. Rakshana believes in the words of Bharathiraja and completes college.
To her shock, when she returns, Shyam and his family is missing from the village.
What happened to them, what Rakshana did after that forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Directed by Manoj Bharathiraja, first half of the movie is filled with love portions.
He had dwelled deep into caste killings and sends a relevant message to the current generation.
Rakshana has delivered a strong performance in her character and her character with Shyam has worked out really well. She shines in the school portions and is impressive.
On the other hand Shyam too have understood his character and has acted accordingly.
Bharathiraja as Rakshana’s grandfather shines in his character and delivers yet another neat performance.
Rest of the cast including Suseenthiran and Raasu have all done their part well.
Ilayaraja’s music adds more strength to the movie. Vanchinathan Murugesan’s camera has captured the proceedings in an interesting manner.
