Jailer 2 song sparks debate, then wins over fans
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 continues to generate considerable excitement ahead of its October release.
The latest song, Ala Bolelo, has attracted strong reactions online. While an earlier 32-second preview faced criticism from some Malayalam-speaking viewers over pronunciation, the release of the complete song has generated considerable enthusiasm among fans.
Several social media users praised the energetic music, choreography and production scale, with many predicting that the track could become a major hit.
The song features Rajinikanth and Shamna Kasim, with the latter appearing in a traditional kasavu saree. The preview had ended with a brief appearance by Rajinikanth.
At the same time, some Malayalam-speaking viewers criticised the pronunciation of Malayalam words used in the song. They argued that greater care should have been taken with the language and suggested involving artists and lyricists familiar with Malayalam.
The music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Arunraja Kamaraj, Niranjana Raman, Aparna Harikumar and Deepthi Suresh are credited with the lyrics.
Directed and written by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on October 15, 2026.
