India reports 22,270 fresh coronavirus cases
India has recorded 22,270 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the Covid tally to 4,28,02,505. According to Union health ministry data, the recovery rate crossed the 98 per cent-mark again.
The death count has climbed to 5,11,230 with 325 daily fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
A total of 60,298 patients have recovered yesterday and the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic is now at 4,19,77,238. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.12 per cent.
Daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 13 consecutive days now.
The active cases comprise 0.59 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.21 per cent, the ministry said.
A reduction of 38,353 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
