CM Vijay in Delhi, meets President Droupadi Murmu, Sonia, Rahul
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday during his three-day visit to the national capital. He also called on Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan.
The President’s Office shared details of the meeting on social media, stating that Chief Minister Vijay had paid a courtesy visit to the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On June 10, Vijay also met Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at their residence on Janpath in New Delhi. The interaction marked his first meeting with the Congress leaders in the capital after taking office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in May.
According to sources, the meeting was a courtesy call during which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi conveyed their good wishes to Vijay. Rahul Gandhi had earlier attended Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony in Chennai.
