Walkathon for Safe and Legal Emigration on February 8, 2025

The Protector of Emigrants (PoE), Tamil Nadu Office, under the Ministry of External Affairs, is organizing a Walkathon for Safe and Legal Emigration on February 8, 2025, at 7:30 AM at Elliot’s Beach, Chennai.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about fraudulent overseas job offers, particularly scams involving data entry, system operator, and similar roles in Southeast Asian countries, which have led many Indian citizens into cyber slavery and exploitation.

The PoE Office has been actively taking action against illegal agents and conducting awareness campaigns to protect individuals from falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.

This Walkathon marks the beginning of a month-long awareness campaign across Tamil Nadu – Paathu Ponga where the PoE Office will educate citizens about safe and legal emigration practices and the risks of unauthorized overseas job placements.

We invite citizens, students, job seekers, and concerned individuals to join hands in this important cause.

Participants can register in advance at www.emigrate.gov.in/#/walkathon to receive a certificate of participation.

Together, let’s empower our citizens with the right information and prevent exploitation. Join the movement and walk for a safer future!
