Vijay’s TVK takes lead over DMK for first time in early trends

Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has taken a lead over the DMK for the first time in several key constituencies.

While the DMK held an initial advantage during the very first postal ballot counts, the TVK has surged ahead as more trends trickle in, indicating a particularly strong performance in urban pockets.

Early data suggests that the TVK is now leading in over 10 seats, signaling a highly competitive three-way battle between the DMK, TVK, and the AIADMK-led alliance.

Despite the party’s overall momentum, the personal battle for the TVK chief remains intensely close.

In Tiruchirappalli East, Vijay is currently locked in a neck-and-neck fight, having briefly trailed the DMK’s Inigo Irudayaraj before narrowing the gap. Similarly, in Perambur, where counting was briefly delayed due to overcrowding, trends remain fluid. Meanwhile, his close associate Srinath has secured a notable lead in Thoothukudi.

These early developments align with some outlier exit poll projections, such as Axis My India, which had predicted a massive “Vijay wave” that could disrupt the state’s traditional bipolar political structure.
