Bigg Boss Tamil has issued a clarification after remarks by host Vijay Sethupathi about leadership prompted speculation among viewers that he was referring to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
The comments came during a conversation with contestant Shathiga about her experience as captain of the Bigg Boss house. Sethupathi discussed promises, accountability and the responsibilities associated with leadership.
He said that making irresponsible promises and later blaming opponents when difficulties arise should not be considered leadership.
The remarks led to interpretations extending beyond the programme. In a statement on X, Vijay Television said the comments should be understood within the show’s format, themes and fictional game environment.
The channel said the programme’s conversations and interactions are part of its evolving narrative and clarified that interpretations linking the remarks to matters outside the show were neither intended nor endorsed.
Sethupathi also discussed the symbolism of the chair and the authority associated with occupying a position of power, noting that power can become intoxicating.
