Vijay to launch Statewide campaign from August

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay is set to kick off a comprehensive statewide tour in August, as party preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections .
With campaign vans ready, the tour marks Vijay’s transition from actor-turned-politician into active grassroots campaigning.
The initial leg of the tour will begin in Delta district, with Nagapattinam emerging as the likely starting point, showcasing Vijay’s commitment to engage with coastal communities—an area where he has previously led protests in solidarity with Tamil Nadu fishermen
Party officials say multiple phases of the tour will follow, covering Kongu and South Tamil Nadu regions, with public roadshows planned in key towns.
Since entering politics in February 2024, Vijay has rapidly strengthened TVK’s organizational framework, transforming fan clubs into a structured political entity. The upcoming tour—spanning approximately 42 days—is seen as a pivotal step in building momentum for his party, which aims to contest all 234 Assembly seats in 2026
It will feature public meetings, roadshows, and interaction with party cadres, designed to amplify the party’s message and mobilize support across Tamil Nadu.
