Vice President C P Radhakrishnan to visit Tamil Nadu today

Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan is set to undertake his maiden visit to Tamil Nadu since assuming office from October 28 to 30, a government release said on Monday.

The visit will see the Vice-President participating in several significant events across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, and Ramanathapuram, reflecting his commitment to engaging with diverse cultural and social facets of the state.

Currently on an official visit to the“Republic of Seychelles, where he attended the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Dr Patrick Herminie on October 26–27, Radhakrishnan will arrive in Coimbatore on October 28. Upon landing at Coimbatore Airport, he will receive a warm welcome from the local populace.

The Vice-President’s itinerary includes a felicitation ceremony by the Coimbatore Citizen Forum at CODISSIA, followed by paying homage at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at the Town Hall Corporation Building. He will also visit the Perur Mutt to participate in the centenary celebrations of Shanthalinga Ramasamy Adigalar, a revered spiritual leader.

Later that evening, Radhakrishnan will travel to Tiruppur, where he will pay floral tributes to statues of freedom fighter Tiruppur Kumaran and Mahatma Gandhi, honouring their legacy in the region.

On October 29, the Vice-President will attend a felicitation programme in Tiruppur and then proceed to Madurai in the evening to offer prayers at the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple, a cultural and religious landmark.

The visit concludes on October 30 with Radhakrishnan attending the Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi celebrations in Pasumpon, Ramanathapuram district. The event commemorates the birth anniversary of the prominent Tamil leader and social reformer.
