“Vedaa” Movie Review

A  determined Dalit girl named Vedaa, portrayed by Sharvari, dreams of becoming a boxer, she confronts formidable challenges, including the oppressive attitudes of her village’s powerful pradhan and his violent brother. Despite these overwhelming obstacles, Vedaa refuses to back down, choosing instead to fight for her rights and her family’s dignity. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Abhimanyu, a court-martialed Army Major, played by John Abraham. Recognizing Vedaa’s potential, Abhimanyu decides to mentor her, guiding her through rigorous training to become a skilled boxer. Together, they form a powerful team, united in their stand against the injustices faced by Vedaa and her family.

John Abraham shines as Abhimanyu, a man of few words but powerful actions. His intense performance, filled with thrilling stunts and relentless energy, makes him the action star to watch. Sharvari, in the role of Vedaa, delivers a raw and compelling portrayal of a young woman determined to break free from societal constraints. Her resilience and passion are evident in every scene, especially when the stakes are high.

Abhishek Banerjee as the menacing pradhan brings a chilling intensity to his role, making him a formidable adversary to Vedaa. The film’s gritty atmosphere and well-crafted tension draw viewers into the story, with evocative scenes that linger long after they’ve ended. The soundtrack, including the song “Zaroorat Se Zyada,” complements the film’s mood, adding depth to its narrative.

While some parts of the film follow a predictable path and the climax feels a bit drawn out, the hardcore action sequences, particularly in the second half, keep the adrenaline pumping. Nikkhil Advani delivers a massy, action-packed movie with a meaningful message, ensuring that “Vedaa” is a film that resonates with both heart and excitement.
