Vani Bhojan and Micset Sriram Inaugurate ‘Color Pencil’ Store in Chennai
Chennai: The vibrant launch of ‘Color Pencil,’ a unique children’s educational store from the makers of Kiki & Coco, took place in Chennai with actress Vani Bhojan and digital creator Micset Sriram gracing the occasion as special guests. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents and children, marking the beginning of an innovative learning space in the city.
Speaking at the inauguration, Narayanan, Founder of Color Pencil, emphasized the need to transform the way education is imparted to children. “Teaching children education is an art. But in this era, it is being imposed. Nowadays, many people do not like children asking ‘Why?’ questions. We have created ‘Joy of Y’ in Color Pencil to change that. Thus, the basic knowledge of children will be strong. That is what we guarantee, but it is not a guarantee that children will go to IITs or get 100% marks by studying here,” he said.
Meena Sabriya, CEO of Color Pencil, highlighted the store’s unique approach and upcoming plans. “We are also going to start a lot of special summer classes here. We will be offering diploma classes in Japanese language, origami, and more to engage and entertain children. There is no fee structure here. Children can purchase a book worth around Rs. 400 and receive training based on it. For the first time in India, we have introduced more than 34 books along with a structured training model. This is the first exclusive store in India dedicated to selling children’s educational products. Spread across 3,300 square feet, we plan to open five more stores across India next year. The purpose of ‘Color Pencil’ is to promote learning and the happiness of children,” she stated.
Actress Vani Bhojan expressed her delight at being part of the launch. “I am happy to be a part of this event. As soon as I entered, I could see many children excited in this store. I hope this enthusiasm continues,” she said.
Color Pencil Brand Ambassador Micset Sriram congratulated the team on the initiative. “Congratulations on launching ‘Color Pencil’ as a great initiative in Chennai. Knowledge and language are important for children to grow well. It is wonderful that they can learn through experience. Thank you for appointing me as the brand ambassador of Color Pencil,” he said.
With its experiential learning model and child-centric philosophy, Color Pencil aims to redefine educational retail spaces in India, fostering curiosity and joyful learning among children.
