Third phase of driverless metro train trial run between Poonamallee- Porur successful
The third phase trial run of the Chennai Metro Rail’s driverless train between Poonamallee and Porur was successfully completed.
This trial involved the downline track and included checks on the Auxiliary Substation (ASS) at Poonamallee Bypass station, which was successfully charged with a 33kV power supply cable, according to reports.

Five trains have reached the depot and are undergoing tests, with another expected to arrive next week.
The first trials in the last week of April were held on the upline track between Poonamallee and Porur.
