Thalapathy Vijay’s Film “LEO” Sets Pre-Release Record in the UK through Ahimsa Entertainment
Ahimsa Entertainment announced a ground breaking pre-release record for Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, “LEO”, in the UK. The film saw an impressive 10000+ tickets booked within a day of opening ticket sales, 42 days before its global release. To put it in perspective, Ahimsa’s previous film, “Varisu”, sold around 2000 tickets in the first 24 hours of pre-booking in January 2023. That means “LEO” achieved more than triple the initial interest!
The buzz for “LEO” has been growing since its announcement. Ahimsa Entertainment, holding the theatrical rights for the UK and Europe, made an unprecedented move by starting pre-bookings six weeks before its release. This strategy seems to be paying off, with “LEO” now holding the title of the first Indian film to open bookings this early in the UK.
The company is excited by the phenomenal response and anticipates even more sales in the days ahead. Highlighting their successful track record, Ahimsa Entertainment previously introduced Thalapathy Vijay’s “Beast” to the US, which not only became a significant hit but also Vijay’s highest grosser in the country. Similarly, their release of “Varisu” in the UK achieved the same milestone, becoming yet another top earner for Thalapathy Vijay in the region.
Ahimsa Entertainment stated, “The response in the first day has been overwhelming. With a strong team including Thalapathy Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Anirudh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, and Trisha, we were hopeful for such positive numbers. We’re aiming to make this the largest ever release for an Indian film in the UK, and we’re grateful for the continuous support from fans.”
A renowned name in overseas Tamil movie distribution, Ahimsa Entertainment’s innovative approach with marketing and promotional activities has led to the successful release of many films, including “Beast”, “Varisu”, “Maamannan”, “Por Thozhil”, “Cobra”, “Naane Varuvean”, “Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu”, “Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal”, “Love Today”, and “Viduthalai Part 1”, to name a few.
