Thai Poosam celebrated with spiritual fervour across Tamil Nadu

The sacred festival of Thai Poosam is being celebrated with great devotion across all Murugan temples today.

Thousands of devotees have gathered to seek the blessings of Lord Murugan, many carrying kavadi as a symbol of their faith and devotion.

At the famous Thiruchendur Murugan Temple, celebrations began early in the morning.

The temple opened its doors at 1 AM, and large crowds patiently waited in long queues for hours to have darshan of the deity. The entire temple town is filled with chants and devotional hymns.

In Palani, a significant pilgrimage site, thousands of devotees are climbing the 693 steps leading to the hilltop temple, carrying kavadi as an offering. Before visiting the temple, many took a holy dip in the Thiruavinankudi and Shanmuganadi rivers from 4 AM onwards. The atmosphere is vibrant with prayers, bhajans, and spiritual fervor.

In Chennai, the Vadapalani Murugan Temple is witnessing a massive influx of devotees. Special queues have been arranged for senior citizens and families with children, ensuring a smooth and organized darshan experience.
