Tesla begins recruitment process in India
Tesla, led by US billionaire Elon Musk, has begun hiring in India, marking a significant step towards its entry into the Indian market. The company has posted job advertisements for 13 positions in Mumbai and Delhi on LinkedIn.
This development follows Musk’s recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the United States.
According to the job listings on LinkedIn, the vacancies include positions in customer service, vehicle maintenance, sales, business operations, and marketing.
Of the 13 roles available, 12 are full-time, while one is part-time. All positions require employees to work on-site, meaning candidates must be physically present at Tesla’s locations in Mumbai or Delhi.
Tesla is offering job positions in Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra.
The available roles include Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Service Technician, Service Manager, Tesla Advisor, Store Manager, Business Operations Analyst, Customer Support Supervisor, Customer Support Specialist, Delivery Operations Specialist, Order Operations Specialist, Inside Sales Advisor, and Consumer Engagement Manager.
A major hurdle for Tesla’s entry into India had been the country’s high import duties.
However, India has now reduced the basic customs duty on high-end electric vehicles (EVs) priced above $40,000 from 110% to 70%, easing some restrictions for international manufacturers.
The recruitment process in India was initiated shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former US President Donald Trump in the United States last week. Candidates seeking further details on job opportunities can visit Tesla’s official website.
