Tamil Nadu State Tenpin Bowling Championship

Abhishek crowned Champion
Abhishek Dhudasiya defeated Akramullah Baig (353-351), in the finals of the Nippon Paint 9th Tamil Nadu State Tenpin Bowling Championship which concluded at LetsBowl, Thoraipakkam, Chennai.

In the Finals, played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, Akram finished the first game trailing Abhishek (207-191) by 16 pins. In Game 2, Akram who needed to score a double in the last frame missed it by a whisker and ended up finishing Game 2 (146-160) and eventually losing the two game pinfall by a narrow two pins.

Earlier in the day, in the stepladder knockout game played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, 3rd seed Shabbir Dhankot succumbed to 4th seed Akramullah Baig in the two-game knockout by 16 pins. In the second stepladder knockout game played, 2nd seed Ganesh NT fell short by 37 pins to Akram.

A total of 30 bowlers participated in this 5 day long championship. Top 16 bowlers were selected for Round 2 based on total pinfall in 12 Games. In Round 2, 12 Games were played amongst top 16 bowlers and Top 8 were selected based on cumulative pinfall of 24 Games for Round 3. In Round 3, a further of 8 Games were played and Top 4 based on cumulative pinfall of 32 games were selected for Stepladder Knockout games.

Selvi. Apoorva, IAS, Principal Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Government of Tamil Nadu graced the occasion by giving away the prizes to the Winners as Chief Guest for the prize distribution ceremony.
