Tamil Nadu Cabinet to meet on October 29 as major policy decisions await

The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, is scheduled to convene at the Secretariat in Chennai at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The meeting is expected to focus on industrial development, investment proposals and legislative priorities ahead of the next Assembly session.
Official sources said the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues are likely to consider several industrial and investment-related proposals. Discussions may also cover proposed new laws and amendments to existing legislation, with the Assembly expected to meet before the end of the year.
The upcoming meeting will be the third Cabinet session since the government took office.
At its first meeting on June 5, the Cabinet approved 436 vision statements under the Vetri Tamizhagam Vision Document. The initiatives covered several electoral promises made by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
The second Cabinet meeting, chaired by Vijay on July 16, took place ahead of the presentation of the Tamil Nadu Budget for 2026–27.
The October 29 discussions are expected to provide further direction on the government’s policy agenda, including economic growth, investment commitments and legislative measures. The specific proposals to be approved are yet to be officially announced.
