Tamil Nadu Assembly session set to commence on June 24

The next session of the State Legislative Assembly will begin on Monday, June 24, at 10 am and is likely to go on for over three weeks when some crucial announcements are to be made by the government, besides moving important bills.

Speaker M Appavu had convened the session to be held at the Assembly Hall inside the State Secretariat, an announcement by the Assembly secretary K Seeniasan said on Friday.

According to sources, the Chief Minister M K Stalin is likely to make a slew of announcements under Rule 110 to implement several programmes and welfare schemes that the DMK had wanted to launch for quite some time.

Since the session is being convened after the Lok Sabha elections that had brought changes in the Union Government, it might revisit many Bills and policies that were stopped by the previous government in Delhi.
