Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum Tamil Movie Review

STORY:

Kathir (Vijay Sethupathi) is an aspiring rowdy, who has just returned from five years of jail life. He went to jail for the local councillor, who promised him comfortable life.

Kathir’s only aim in life is to own a bar. Meanwhile, there is Yazhini (Madonna Sebastian), who loses her software job due to recession.

She suffers from financial crisis, and she stays in a small flat opposite to Kathir’s. The two people with contrasting dreams meet each other and their lives soon undergo drastic changes.

ANALYSIS:

You just can’t believe that the film is a remake of much acclaimed Korean movie My Dear Desparado. For, director Nalan Kumarasamy has added immense local flavour to the script, that it appears like an original and hard core Tamil movie.

After a very long gap, Tamil cinema witnesses a very good rom-com in Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum. It is not the regular stuff, but a different one. And it has got lot in store to impress you.

Vijay Sethupathi, with his sharp performance, brings a wannabe rowdy before our eyes. Though the character reminds one of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, this one is totally different. Madonna is a welcome debut in Kollywood and it’s way to go.

Santhosh Narayanan’s music, especially background score, adds life to every scene. So are Dinesh Krishnan’s visuals and Leo John Paul’s cuts at appropriate places.

To sum it up, Kaadhalum Kadanthu Pogum is a classy movie, which will leave you smiling. Tamil cinema is undergoing a positive change. And Nalan Kumarasamy, the Soodhu Kavvum maker, is among the ones who are spearheading it.
