Inji Idupazhagi Tamil Movie Review
Diet delicacy
STORY:
Soundarya alias Sweety (Anushka Shetty) is an obese young woman. A working girl, she is a gourmet and enjoys life to the maximum. But her mother (Urvashi) finds it very difficult to find a groom to Sweety.
Abhi (Arya) is a fitness freak and he is impressed with Sweety’s innocence and good heart. But she says no to him. Following this, he falls for slim and svelte Simran (Sonal Chauhan).
As days pass, Sweety develops love for Abhi but she is shocked to know that he is in a relationship with Simran. Following this, she vows to lose weight to become like Simran and joins a fitness centre. What happens next?
ANALYSIS:
It’s right that industry people call her female Kamal Haasan and Vikram. We realise it after watching the film, as it’s Anushka who shoulders the heavy responsibility of making Inji Iduppazhagi work.
It’s a doubt whether any other top actress would have taken such a risk (to increase oodles of weight and to reduce it in a short span of time), but Anushka has done it with aplomb.
Not just in looks, but she has given a terrific performance too, that every other actor looks like a sidekick. Nirav Shah’s cinematography makes the film on par with Bollywood’s glossy ventures and Maragadhamani scores well in background and in songs.
Despite its plus points, Inji Iduppazhagi has negative aspects too. The latter half stretches for effect despite the film running for just two hours. Lip sync is another big problem (bilingual!).
Inji Iduppazhagi, Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by PVP Cinema relies on Anushka and beautiful small moments. Go for it if you have time to spend this weekend.
