Spirit is the spirit
STORY:
Good friends Aravind (Kalaiarasan), Krishna (Rameez Raja), Rafi (Kaali Venkat), Balaji (Hari) and Shankar (Arjunan) go on a trip to Valparai. There, they stay at Aravind’s estate.
Soon, the friends start undergo paranormal experiences. They also realise that the spirit of their friend Ram, who committed suicide after his parents objected his love affair, has possessed Aravind.
The rest of the movie is about what really happened to Ram, why has he haunted Aravind, and whether the friends are able to come out safe from the estate or not.
ANALYSIS:
It’s a smart thing to name the film Darling 2, as the title carries value thanks to the success of the G V Prakash Kumar-starrer. Sadly, but for the title, things are not very impressive, when compared to Darling.
Too many sub-plots are there and flasback sequences too mar the flow of the film. Comedy portions are also less. On the positive side, there are some good scenes and visuals are of top notch (Vijay Kartik Kannan).
Kalaiarasan has presented a good performance, while terrific was the trio-Hari, Arjunan and Kaali Venkat. On the whole, director Sathish Chandrasekaran has tried to make a difference to a cliched subject.
