baahubali 2 movie review

Boss of box-office

STORY:

Actually, the story of ‘Baahubali 2’ should not be revealed, for it has got too many spoilers. From ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali’ to the rivalry behind Palvaal Thevan and Devasena to the intentions and actions of Sivagami, it has got many crucial things and revealing it would only do harm to the movie.

In fact, the first part only introduced the characters to us. It is only in the second part we get to see various dimensions of not just lead actors, but also character roles.

ANALYSIS

Take a bow Rajamouli and team. Baahubali can only be said as a trailer to Baahubali 2, for the second part is more in-depth, rich and massive than the first part.

The film is grand and glossy from the word go and Prabhas, who plays the dual (title) role, has given his heart and soul to the movie. Be it fight scenes or romance or the emotional ones, he is there delivering the right performance.

Rana Daggubati, the ‘epitome of evilness’, menaces us more in the sequel. A special mention needs to be made about the way he has maintained his physique.

If you are an Anushka fan and if you feel like missing her beauty and performance in Baahubali, here is Baahubali 2 for you. Tamannah, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj and Nasser deliver nothing but goods.

Behind the scenes, cinematographer K K Senthil Kumar has brought all the grandness alive, while Maragadhamani (M M Keeravani) has added soul to the visuals with his songs and background score.

Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao’s editing is as sharp as Baahubali’s sword, while the art and visual effects departments deserve a huge applause. Others who need to be lauded include stunt master Peter Hein and costume designers Rama Rajamouli and Prasanth Tripuraneni.

All these talents have made Baahubali 2 a visual spectacle and a milestone in Indian cinema. Certain scenes are lengthy. But feasts on festival days will be heavy only.
