ANALYSIS:

Inspired by Japanese crime novel The Devotion Of Suspect X, Kolaigaran directed by Andrew Louis is a gripping crime thriller that teases the brains of the audience right from the very first scene.

Vijay Antony fits perfectly well for the role of a passive man who hides everything in him. And he has scored well. Arjun’s performance is terrific and it is a delight to watch him.

Ashima Narwal shows promise while Nassar is an interesting choice for the role of Arjun’s mentor. Though music is good and gripping, songs are actually a speed-break for the screenplay.

With good technical values and very good writing, Andrew Louis has presented us a worthy thriller that takes the audience serious. Though there are shades of Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam, Kolaigaran is a sharp film which is a treat for the lovers of crime stories.
