Car-nival
STORY:
Deva (Natty), Janani (Ruhi Singh) and Bhaskar (Arjunan) work in a car showroom. One day, a politician orders a car as surprise gift to his daughter.
While Deva and Bhaskar are on their way to deliver it, the car goes missing. Eventually, all three lose their jobs. This makes them turn hi-tech burglars and they start stealing cars.
They get a meaty assignment- to rob all the high-end cars of Pandian (Sharath Lohitashwa), a Madurai-based don. In their mission, they are joined by Mani (Munishkanth), who knows a few of Pandian’s secrets.
As they devise strategies to steal Pandian’s cars, they also come to know about some shocking details. What happens next is the rest of Bongu.
ANALYSIS:
For Natty, who enacted a similar role in Sathuranga Vettai, this is a cakewalk. His performance is good. Former Miss India Ruhi Singh impresses us with her sharp features, while the likes of Munishkanth, Sharath Lohitashwa and Arjunan have played their parts well.
Director Taj has come up with a decent thriller, thanks to a tight screenplay and crisp narration. But some comedy scenes and songs appear as speed-breakers to the narration.
The film engages the audience in most parts, making Taj and team to emerge triumphant. Music by Srikanth Deva is pacy. Equally good are Mahesh Muthuswami’s cinematography and Gopi Krishna’s editing.
Had only the director focused on avoiding unwanted elements and adding more pace to the proceedings, Bongu could have easily emerged yet another Sathuranga Vettai.
