Seen and herd
STORY:
Ramamurthy (Vitharth) enters wedlock with Seetha (Raveena). Following their wedding, the two families, along with others in the village, go to another village to offer a goat to the local deity.
They go in a lorry and on their way, there is an accident. Much to their shock, they see a man lying dead in front of their lorry. Making matters worse is the fact that it was Ramamurthy who was in the driver’s seat.
Now everyone wants to save the newly married Ramamurthy. They even find out the lorry’s driver and offer to take care of his family and buy him a new lorry if he accepts the blame and go to jail.
In the meantime, Seetha’s brother volunteers to take the blame for the sake of his sister. But his plan is opposed by his father. What happens next? Who is sentenced and who is saved?
ANALYSIS:
Directed by Suresh Sangaiah, Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu is an important film of this year so far. It is a thriller, a touching tale, an emotional ride, a rural film and even more.
Script and narration are the main strengths of OKKM. Equal credits go to the cast too, including Vitharth, Raveena, Goerge, Krishnamoorthy, Hello Kanthaswamy and Jayaraj.
Rural beauty has been captured well by R V Saran’s lens, while music by R Raghuram and editing by Praveen K L are apt for the movie’s mood and theme.
With a run time of just 2 hours and 1 minute, the film leaves a lasting impression on us. It conveys the message that it intended, but nothing goes overboard and things are never preachy. And that makes OKKM far better than its counterparts in the recent times.
