STORY:
Sakthi (Vijay Vasanth) is a pick-pocket and he is chased by goons for robbing a gangster. His love interest Malarvizhi (Srushti Dange) is threatened by the personal assistant of the education minister.
The ‘mistake’ she did was to file for the revaluation of board exam marks, on behalf of her maid’s daughter. There is a honest police officer Sathya (Samuthirakani), who faces opposition from his own colleague and friend Saravanan (Bharath Reddy) for digging into the death of his childhood sweetheart Shruti (Vidya Pradeep).
In the meantime, an honest education department official (Thalaivasal Vijay) is killed in a bomb blast. All these points (or characters) meet in a single point, and this unmasks a big education racket.
ANALYSIS:
Director Rajapandi impressed many in his maiden movie Yennamo Nadakudhu, which had the same Vijay Vasanth in the lead role.
In Achamindri too, he takes up a social evil, but gets more preachy, thus diluting the interest which has to be maintained by the screenplay.
Vijay Vasanth has improved, while Saranya Ponvannan surprises us with a negative role. Vidya Pradeep is good in a small role, while Srushti Dange, Radha Ravi and Samuthirakani are impressive.
A Venkatesh’s cinematography, Praveen K L’s editing and Premgi’s songs lend apt support. Overall, Achamindri is a commercial entertainer that throws light into loopholes in the system.
