Tamil is being taught in UP schools: Yogi Adityanath
In a veiled dig at DMK chief MK Stalin, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the controversy over the three-language policy was being created for selfish political interests that would only hurt the employment opportunities of the youth.
In an interview with PTI, Adityanath said languages like Tamil and Telugu were also taught in UP schools, and it has only led to the creation of more jobs.
“In UP, we are teaching Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi, so has UP become smaller due to this? New employment opportunities are being created in UP, jobs are being created,” the fiery BJP leader said.
Intensifying his attack on the DMK government, Adityanath said, “Those who are creating this language controversy due to their narrow political interests, they may fulfil their political motives, but they are in a way attacking the employment of the youth.”
This is the second time in a week that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has taken potshots at Stalin over the language row. Last week, in an interview with ANI, Adityanath said the DMK chief was trying to create divisions based on region and language because he felt his vote bank was at risk.
