Tamil Film Producers Council takes strict action against actor Vishal
The TFPC has taken action against actor Vishal for misusing the council’s money.
A request has been made to the producers and technicians who work with Vishal to consult the association. The TFPC issued a statement regarding this which says:
“Based on allegations against Mr. Vishal, who served as the head of the Tamil Film Producers Council from 2017-2019, the Tamil Nadu government appointed a special officer in 2019. This officer appointed an auditor to review the council’s accounts.
The auditor’s report after analysing the accounts revealed that the funds of the association were misused, resulting in a loss of approximately Rs 12 crores, including Rs 7.5 crores from the council’s bank deposits and Rs 5 crores from the 2017-2019 income and expenditure. Despite multiple notifications to Vishal to return the misused funds, there has been no response from him.
To address this issue, based on the executive committee’s recommendation and a unanimously passed resolution by the general assembly, it is requested that producers and technicians planning new films with Vishal consult with the Tamil Film Producers Council before commencing their work.”
It may be noted the Vishal recently criticised government for getting involved in the affairs of Kollywood.
