Suriya’s Jai Bhim does not make it for Oscar nominations 2022
Suriya’s fans are heartbroken as Jai Bhim didn’t make it to the final cut of Oscar nominations 2022. The actor’s fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
Many of them said that it was Oscar’s loss after Jai Bhim failed to get nominated for the 94th Academy Award. Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham also faced a similar fate at the Oscars 2022.
Jai Bhim, directed by TJ Gnanavel, sheds light on caste injustice and police brutality meted out to the members of the Irular tribe. Suriya’s fans took it personally after the film didn’t make it to the final cut.
The films that were nominated for Oscars 2022 were Belfast, CODA, Don’t Look Up, Drive My Car, Dune, King Richard, Licorice Pizza, Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog and West Side Story.
Jai Bhim, produced by Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Productions, was hailed as one of the best films of 2021. The film skipped theatrical release and premiered directly on Amazon Prime Video.
