Suriya did not receive any remuneration for cameo in Rocketry: Madhavan
R Madhavan is thrilled about the release of his directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
Apart from directing, Madhavan wrote the screenplay and lyrics, played the lead role and co-produced the film as well.
Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya will be seen in cameo roles in the Hindi and Tamil versions of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, respectively.
At a media interaction in Chennai, Madhavan revealed that Suriya didn’t receive any remuneration for his cameo.
The actor-director said, “Suriya didn’t charge a single rupee for his cameo. In fact, he booked his flight ticket and came all the way to Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios for the shooting. I haven’t even given him a gift yet.”
Similarly, Madhavan mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t ask for payment for his assistants as well.
R Madhavan’s Rocketry is a biopic based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was falsely accused of espionage.
The film features R Madhavan, Simran, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal and several others in important roles. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will release in theatres on July 1.
