Stalin urges INDIA bloc allies to stand united to defeat BJP
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin has urged the leaders of the INDIA bloc to stay united amid turmoil within the Opposition alliance.
Stalin urged his INDIA allies to make sure that the “votes against BJP should not split”.
“Everyone should only have one aim- not to allow BJP to come back to power. Votes against BJP must not get split,” he said.
While speaking at a party event in Trichy on Friday, Stalin said that the BJP cancelled the mayoral elections in Chandigarh because the INDIA bloc was about to win there. “If they are cancelling even a major election, INDIA alliance leaders must realise how much BJP is fearing us,” Stalin said.
Stalin further said that if the BJP wins again in 2024, then states will not be there. “States will be reduced to Corporations by the BJP and, thereby, they need to be defeated across the country,” he said.
The DMK chief, whose party is also part of the Opposition alliance, said that the BJP should not come to power again. “If that happens, power, federalism, democratic norms, parliamentary proceedings and even states won’t be there anymore,” Stalin said.
Stalin cited the example of Jammu and Kashmir, whose special status was scrapped by the Centre in August 2019.
