Stalin launches advanced Kaaval Uthavi app
The police force in Tamil Nadu will henceforth have more biting power, thanks to the new, advanced Kaaval Uthavi (police assistance) app launched by Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat.
“The app has been designed in such a way that the public, especially women, can use it to contact the police department quickly and efficiently. The app has more than 60 features,” said the state government in a statement.
On opening the app, the users will find a red colour button emergency button to contact the police department. By pressing it, the police department will gather the information provided by the user and their location which will be passed on the information to the police control room.
Similarly, the Kavalan SOS app will be integrated with the ‘Kaaval Uthavi’ app under which when the user tries to contact the police department, the details of the users will be obtained by the police department. The public, especially women and senior citizens, can file mobile-based complaints through the app by providing a photo or a short video about the incident.
Location sharing facility is also included in the app through which the public can share the details of the place they visit in case of emergencies. Other significant features such as police station locator, control room directory, cyber financial related complaints, details of other emergency helplines, e-payment of fines, police verification services, lost document reports and so on are also present in the app.
The app can be downloaded for free from the google play store.
