‘Sooru’, a sensational song from ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’, released to rousing reception
Composed by Edwin, an alumnus of AR Rahman’s music college, the song is crooned by Kannan Kanapathy, Stephen Zechariah, Premgi Amaren
‘Soodhu Kavvum 2′ produced by Thangam Cinemas’ Thangaraj and Thirukumaran Entertainment’s C V Kumar and directed by S J Arjun is getting ready for a grand theatrical release. Starring Mirchi Shiva, Radharavi, Karunakaran, and M S Bhaskar in key roles; ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’ promises to be an interesting blend of comedy and action.
A pulsating song ‘Mandaikku Sooru Eruthey’ from ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’ was released on Monday evening and has attracted the attention of the fans.
Composed by Edwin Louis Viswanath, a former student of A R Rahman’s music college and Trinity College London, the song has been sung by popular Malaysian artiste Kannan Kanapathy, leading Singaporean artiste Stephen Zechariah and actor-composer Premgi Amaren.
Speaking about the song, music director Edwin said, “In this song which comes in the background of the movie, we have used the Tamil word ‘Sooru’ which has not been used in films. Known in rural areas, Sooru means being on a high. This word is famous in Malaysia too. We have used it because it was very suitable for this song.”
Composer Edwin said the song has come out very well and thanked Kannan Kanapathy who has a huge fan following in Malaysia, Stephen Zechariah a top celebrity in Singapore and Premgi Amaran who is not only an actor but also a composer for their excellent collaboration for this song. He also expressed gratitude to producer CV Kumar for giving him the opportunity to compose music for ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’.
Producer C V Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment bankrolled the blockbuster ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ that received praise from all quarters and emerged box-office success in 2013. After 11 years, the film’s sequel ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’ is getting ready. The team said ‘Soodhu Kavum 2’ will be a proper sequel to ‘Soodhu Kavvum’.
Karthik K Thillai has handled cinematography for ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2′. The shooting of the film happened in various locations including Chennai. Produced by Thangam Cinemas’ Thangaraj and Thirukumaran Entertainment’s C V Kumar and directed by S J Arjun, ‘Soodhu Kavvum 2’ will soon hit the big screens.
