Soori’s Maaman gets OTT release date

After a theatrical run that garnered attention for its emotional narrative, actor Soori’s latest film, Maaman, is officially set for its digital premiere.

The family drama will begin streaming on ZEE5 starting August 8.

Directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj, Maaman delves into the intricacies of family relationships, focusing on the strong bond between an uncle, Inba (Soori), and his nephew, Nilan. The film explores how this deep affection, while heartwarming, can sometimes lead to complications and misunderstandings within the broader family, especially after Inba’s marriage to Rekha (Aishwarya Lekshmi).

Maaman had its theatrical release on May 16, 2025, and received mixed to positive reviews, with many praising Soori’s performance in a more dramatic role and the film’s relatable emotional core.

The satellite rights for the film were acquired by Zee Tamil and Zee Thirai, while ZEE5 secured the digital streaming rights.

The cast also includes veteran actors like Rajkiran and Swasika, along with Baba Bhaskar, Bala Saravanan, and Master Prageeth Sivan as Nilan. The music for Maaman is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.
