SJ Suryah to don the director’s hat after 10 years

Actor and director S. J. Suryah is donning the filmmaker’s hat after a decade. His last directorial venture was Isai, released in 2015.

He has officially announced his new film, titled Killer, which he will not only direct but also star in the lead role and pen the story, screenplay, and dialogues.

The film was officially launched with a pooja today (June 27, 2025) and is set to begin shooting in Chennai.

Killer is described as a romantic action comedy and will be a pan-Indian venture, released in multiple languages.

Suryah has stated it’s a dream project for him, a mix of James Bond meets Kushi (referencing his own blockbuster film). While much of the film will be shot in India, a significant portion will also be filmed in Mexico.

S. J. Suryah has been highly active as an actor in recent years, delivering acclaimed performances in films across Tamil and Telugu cinema. His return to direction is generating significant buzz among his fans and the industry.
