Sivakarthikeyan’s next gets a new director and goes on floors
Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming 27th film has undergone a major change behind the camera, with Ramkumar Balakrishnan now set to direct the project.
The film, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and featuring Kayadu Lohar, officially went on floors with the announcement on Friday. The project was previously associated with director Venkat Prabhu.
The production house released a poster showing a car surrounded by several men and accompanied it with the line, “The more they came, the bigger he looked.”
Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing the film. Music composer Sai Abhyankkar is also part of the project, while Om Prakash has been announced as the cinematographer and Kalaivanan R as editor.
The makers have not yet disclosed the complete cast, genre or storyline.
For Ramkumar Balakrishnan, the project follows his acclaimed debut Parking. He had earlier been attached to a film featuring Silambarasan, but that project was eventually dropped after creative differences.
Ramkumar recently received two National Film Awards for Parking, including Best Screenplay and Best Feature Film in Tamil.
Sivakarthikeyan, meanwhile, is currently working on Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. The film also features Bhagyashri Borse, Raj B Shetty, Bala Saravanan, Seeman, Aruldoss, Singam Puli and Raichal Rabecca.
Seyon was initially expected to release in October but has now been pushed to a later date. The film is also backed by Kamal Haasan’s production banner, following their collaboration on Amaran.
